Welcome to the June edition of the Accredited Travel Professional newsletter.

Win a signed copy of the Long Way Round DvD

Explore Adventure Travel are offering a prize of a copy of the DVD 'Long Way Down' signed by Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman as a prize draw for those that complete the Explore Adventure Travel Expert training in June. The DvD chronicles the pair’s adventures as they travel on their 15,000-mile motorbike journey. Their route took them from John O'Groats at the northernmost tip of Scotland to Cape Agulhas on the southernmost tip of South Africa.

The training is available through their website here. The prize is available to ATP members who complete all six modules in the month of June. You gain one CPD point per module and a further 2 bonus points for completing all the modules. To view this on the ATP site click here.

To enter the competition send your name and ATP number to Vicki Wolf on vwolf@abta.co.uk by the 30 June 2008. (You must have a valid ATP subscription to claim the prize).

Winner of last month’s Aer Lingus competition

Tracy Massey from Knock Travel in Belfast is the lucky winner of a pair of flights between Belfast and London with Aer Lingus. Aer Lingus supports ongoing training and development and are thrilled to be the first sponsor of a prize for ATP members.

Don’t forget to log your CPD points

You can claim continuous professional development (CPD) points for a variety of activities and learning opportunities. Those that are currently suitable are listed in the “Check my points” area of the website. To log your points you must log into the members area, click on “Add points”. ABTA Seminars

ATP members are reminded that they can claim six CPD points for attending the ABTA Crisis Management seminar that took place on 4 June.

ABTA have just launched a new seminar on Extreme Weather Patterns which will take place on 8 July. Spaces are limited for this seminar so if you do want to book, click here or contact Julie Graves and Mark McDonald on events@abta.co.uk or call 020 7307 1956 and 020 7307 1952.

All ATP members receive a 10% discount on ABTA seminars.

ATP Benefits

Click on view benefits on the ATP members site and use your user name and password to access your ATP online benefits. The ATP benefits scheme is provided by TBX, give ATP members access to a wide range of discounts through straight money off discounts as well as through vouchers. For example you get 5% off when you buy £50 worth of vouchers at Sainsburys and 8% off at Waitrose for doing the same. Asda and Marks & Spenser also offer a 5% off discount for vouchers.
