Is ATP For Me? |
The ATP scheme is a great way to measure your own personal development within the travel industry. It is designed to be a way of recognising individuals who have achieved high levels of customer service, product knowledge and professionalism. |
| ATP is neither a club nor a qualification. Especially important it is not something you join up to and then just renew every year - it is not for passive members! |
ATP has fantastic benefits for both staff and employers. The public will soon start to hear about the benefits of ATP and before too long they will understand and will ask for an ATP travel consultant. |
| It is important to understand that the scheme is not a qualification! It is a process of recognising your qualifications, experience and onward development within the industry. Once membership has been gained, it is retained through a programme of Continuous Professional Development (CPD). |

| ATP London Pilot |
| ABTA received funding from the London Development Agency (LDA) to pilot the ATP scheme in London. The pilot ran until April 2007. Taking part in the pilot was free and open to all ABTA members based in London Boroughs. Employers were able to offer free training for their senior staff in the skills of mentoring/advising their less experienced colleagues in how to make the most out of continuous professional development. Those involved had the opportunity to apply to be members of the ATP at no charge for the first 12 months of membership. |
